daily
diary: day 11 the plan: We follow the coast road all the way to John O'Groats today, and after around 950 miles on our bikes, the end point at John O'Groats will be eagerly awaited. But whilst it is a relatively short day in terms of miles, apparently there are still some hills to be climbed! the reality: We made it - all 14 of the team who set off from Land's End cycled into John O'Groats at 12.55pm today, having cycled over 950 miles. Despite only being 52 miles today, there were plenty of hills to climb, including a major one out of Berriedale. Plenty of downhills too though, and the fastest speed of the trip was recorded by Nick at 47.6mph. Great weather, great views - sorry for the short update, but there's celebrating to do! Distance
travelled: 52 miles (cumulative 957 miles) Thank you: To Juanita and Martin - our superstar support drivers (Juanita for the whole trip and Martin from Kilmarnock to the end). We couldn't have done without them and have been great to have along. go to daily diary index |
